Privacy Policy

Short version: we barely collect anything. Here are the details.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

Who we are

Cult Arcade is a free collection of browser games operated by AfterHoursStudio (“we”, “us”), an independent one-person studio based in India. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site at cultarcade.ahstudios.in, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy. Our studio-wide policy, which also covers ahstudios.in, sets out the same practices in more detail.

Information we collect

We do not require accounts, logins or sign-ups, and we do not ask you for personal information such as your name, email or address to play. We do not sell personal information. The limited data involved falls into two buckets:

  • Local game data. Your best scores and a few small preferences (for example, your cookie choice) are stored in your own browser using localStorage and session memory. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it any time by clearing your browser storage.
  • Standard technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider and our advertising partner may automatically receive standard information such as your device type, browser, approximate region and IP address as part of serving the page. We do not run any analytics or visitor-tracking product of our own.

Cookies and advertising

We display ads through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Until you accept cookies on this site, we ask Google to serve non-personalised ads only. Non-personalised ads are based on the content of the page you are on rather than on your past browsing, and still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at www.aboutads.info.
  • For details on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's Privacy & Terms and How Google uses cookies in advertising.

Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising, and on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving a free site. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: open Cookie settings in the footer and choose Decline, and every ad requested from that point on is non-personalised again.

— review or change your current cookie choice now.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers who make the site work — our hosting provider and Google, as our advertising partner. Because we run no accounts and no database, we hold no profile of you to retain. Any email you send us is kept only for as long as it takes to answer you. Your scores and preferences live in your own browser and are deleted the moment you clear its storage.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Since we hold no account data, most of this is already in your hands through your browser settings and the ad controls linked above. For anything else — including any email you have sent us — write to fwdapproach@gmail.com and we will action it. We answer rights requests free of charge and within one month.

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK and you think we have handled your data badly, you also have the right to complain to your national data-protection authority. If you are in India, the same address above reaches the person responsible for grievances under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; if we cannot resolve your complaint you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India.

International visitors

The site is operated from India and can be reached worldwide, so data may be processed outside your own country — including by our hosting provider and by Google. Where data covered by the GDPR leaves the EEA or UK, those transfers rely on the safeguards the provider puts in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Children's privacy

Cult Arcade is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Your choices

You can change your cookie choice with Cookie settings in the footer, clear locally stored scores at any time through your browser settings, block or delete cookies, and use the ad-personalisation controls linked above. Disabling storage or cookies will not stop you from playing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
