About Cannon Shot

Read the arc. Time the barrel. Fire.

Cannon Shot removes aiming from an aiming game. The barrel sweeps up and down on its own and never stops, so your only inputs are when to start charging and when to let go — the angle is simply whatever the barrel happens to be doing at that instant. Add a drifting crate, a wind that gusts harder the further you get, and target mouths that keep shrinking, and it becomes a game of reading two independent rhythms at once and finding the moment where they agree.

How to play Cannon Shot

  1. The barrel sweeps up and down on its own — you time it, you don’t aim it.
  2. Hold to charge the power meter, release to fire. Longer hold = harder shot.
  3. Land the ball in the moving crate to score.
  4. Bank off walls and lids to reach tucked-away targets for bonus points.
  5. Wind nudges the arc, and it gusts harder the further you get.
  6. Miss three shots and it’s game over.

Controls

Hold to charge, release to fire (or hold Space).

Tips & strategy

  • Charge on the upswing and release as the barrel passes your intended angle, not when it arrives — the release itself takes a beat.
  • Learn the crate’s travel before you fire. It moves on a fixed path, so there is always a window where it and the barrel line up.
  • Bank shots off walls and lids are worth real bonus points and are often the only way into tucked-away crates, so practise them while you still have lives.
  • Wind gusts rather than blowing steadily, so watch a full cycle and fire in the lull instead of trying to compensate for the peak.
