About Snakes & Ladders

Climb the ladders. Dodge the snakes.

Snakes & Ladders is the purest luck game ever printed, and that is exactly why it still works. You roll, you climb, and you get swallowed by a snake three squares from victory while everyone watches. This version runs the classic hundred-square board against the CPU or as local pass-and-play for two to four, with the traditional exact-roll finish — overshoot square 100 and you stay put, sometimes for several agonising turns.

How to play Snakes & Ladders

  1. Pick vs CPU or pass-and-play and 2–4 players, then tap ROLL on your turn.
  2. Land on the foot of a ladder to instantly climb to its top.
  3. Land on a snake’s head and you slide all the way down to its tail.
  4. You must reach square 100 on an exact roll — overshoot and you stay put. First to 100 wins.

Controls

Tap ROLL and watch your token climb.

Tips & strategy

  • There is no skill in the roll, so play it for the swings — the game is at its best with three or four people taking turns on one device.
  • Watch the squares just below 100: the exact-finish rule means the last stretch usually decides the game, not the big ladders early on.
  • A long ladder near the start matters far less than avoiding the late snakes, because there is much less board left to recover across.
  • Keep an eye on rivals’ positions rather than only your own — knowing someone is one good roll from home changes how much a near-miss stings.
